Staphylococcus epidermidis is a Gram-positive bacterium, and one of over 40 species belonging to the genus Staphylococcus. It is part of the normal human flora, typically the skin flora, and less commonly the mucosal flora. Story Details:
This bacterium is first seen in the hospital at the end of Episode 4. The doctors are concerned that Sawaki Tadayasu has contracted E. coli from the food, not understanding that he is suffering the effects of lactose intolerance.
